Mon Tout features in the Top 25 WAGFG Wine Awards - 2024

Now in it's 4th year, the WA Good Food Guide Wine Awards are designed to be a compelling and modern resource for drinkers.

Chaired in 2024 by Emma Farrelly and Erin Larkin, their approach to the process openly posed the questions, ‘would you drink this? Would you put your money on the line and buy this?’ Most importantly, ‘does this offer untold joy – is it delicious?’

While these are not entirely relevant in the traditional wine show system, in this instance the two esteemed wine writers sought to place greater emphasis on charm and appeal rather than technical perfection.

The co-chairs were joined by Ray Jordan, Mike Bennie, Leamme Altmann and Nick Ryan, on the judging panel and over 280 wines were tasted and re-tasted to curate the final list.

In there address, Emma and Erin state,

'The goal was to shine a spotlight on the very best examples of Western Australian wine, and the judges delivered resoundingly. After rigorous tasting and evaluation, the top 25 wines were chosen with unanimous support, reflecting the exceptional craftsmanship and terroir of WA’s diverse wine regions. These wines now stand as a testament to the state’s thriving viticulture and will undoubtedly capture the attention of wine lovers, both locally and beyond.'

We were delighted to learn that that our wine 'Mon Tout - Strange Love' was included in the top 25, with judges commenting:

"Pretty and bright with a hazy pink hue that is immediately pleasing to the eye. Ripe and exotic fruits – strawberry, guava, rose petal and lychee – saturate the palate. Quenching and refreshing with a bite of chalky grip. A brilliantly fun drink."

Mon Tout's founder, Richard Burch was stoked that the wine made the short list.

"This wine is always a favourite with our customers and is usually the first to sell out each year. To have this respected group of critics appreciate it's charm is so amazing."
