2024 Young Gun of Wine Finalist

Since 2007 the team behind the Young Gun of Wine awards have scaled the width and breath of the country to showcase the talents of our young winemakers.

In 2024 Mon Tout were honoured to be named as a finalist for the second time, putting founder Richard Burch and Winemaker Nic Bowen under the spotlight once again. 

As Richard Burch jokes, 'there were only a few years that Nic and I could be considered 'young' enough to enter but we slipped under the 45 year age limit with a few years to spare.'

'We are proud of how these wines have evolved in recent years and our approach is one of true collaboration, not just between Nic and I but with the viticulture team also.'

Having long admired some of the previous winners of the Young Gun of Wine awards, Richard and the team entered in 2023 and 2024 and were delighted to be shortlisted as finalists on both occasions. 

In 2024 Mon Tout was one of four West Australian finalists, helping to illuminate the talent and diversity of the winemaking landscape in the region. 

Burch notes, 'there is a tremendous amount of youthful talent and innovation in winemaking so it's incredible to be included in a group of winemakers that share a vision for doing things a little differently.'
